My buddy Dave tried cleaning his garage with a broom for years. Then he borrowed my shop vac last spring and called me three times that same weekend. He found over a pound of drywall dust from a patch job he did in 2019. @aaronsullivan is exactly right about seeing the junk that gets pulled out versus just pushed around. Dave texted me a picture of his shop vac full and said he was done with brooms forever.

Same here. Once you see how much junk gets pulled out versus just pushed around, you never go back to a broom and dustpan.

Right? Pulled out a wad of cat hair that looked like a whole other cat from under my couch yesterday. Broom would have just smashed it into the carpet fibers. Never going back.
