The raccoon that held my chimney hostage for a full morning
Last Tuesday I opened up a flue in Maplewood and a raccoon dropped down right onto my face, honest to god. It scrambled around the firebox for like 20 minutes before I could coax it out with a shop vac and some old bread. The homeowner just stood there laughing and said 'well, at least you know the draft is good.' Whole job took 3 hours instead of 45 minutes and I smelled like wet animal for the rest of the day. Has anyone else had wildlife just decide to move in mid-sweep, or am I the only lucky one?
