Can we talk about how moving to Denver made my rent double and my freedom shrink?
I lived in a small town in Kansas where my rent was $650 for a two bedroom and I could walk anywhere in 10 minutes. Last week I moved to Denver and my rent jumped to $1,400 for a tiny studio with a roommate I met on Craigslist, and I can't even park my car without paying $200 a month. Everyone keeps saying the city has better jobs and more to do, but I'm working two shifts just to cover bills and I haven't gone out once because everything costs money. My neighbor told me they've been here three years and still feel lonely, which honestly scares me. Does anyone else feel like the city promise is a total scam, or is it just me adjusting badly?
