Hit my 50th day of no human touch and honestly it's wild
Moved to Chicago last September for a job, and between WFH, my roommate being gone for months, and dating apps being a total bust, I just realized I hit 50 straight days without a hug or even a high five. I started counting because my barista asked 'how's it going' and I almost teared up at the eye contact. Anyone else hit a weird milestone like this that made you question if the city life is even worth it?
man I felt this in my soul and also my skin because that's how touch starved I am lol. I hit 40 days once during a winter where I swear my doorknob was the only thing that acknowledged my existence. The barista thing is real though, I almost hugged a delivery guy who said "have a good one" a little too nicely. Honestly at this point I'm convinced my apartment plants are judging me for how much I talk to them.
