Serious question, my sublet key snapped in the lock at 11pm in Brooklyn and my landlord actually picked up
Last Tuesday my key snapped clean off in the front door lock of my sublet in Brooklyn around 11pm, and I stood there on the stoop with half a key in my hand. I called my landlord expecting voicemail like every other time, but he picked up on the second ring and said he'd be there in 20 minutes. He showed up with a drill, got the broken piece out, and swapped the whole lock for a new one, then handed me two fresh keys and didn't charge me a dime. I know that's a low bar but after my last place in Queens where a leaky sink took 3 weeks, this felt like winning the lottery. Has anyone else had a landlord actually come through like that, or did I just get lucky once?
