Stop telling people to move to a big city for the "opportunities" when you have never paid $2,100 for a studio
My cousin keeps pushing her 22 year old son to move to Seattle for tech jobs, and I finally asked her if she knows a studio there runs $2,100 and he would be splitting it with a stranger. She has never paid rent in a city in her life, so her advice comes from job boards instead of real numbers, and that is how kids end up moving home after 8 months broke. Why do people who never lived in a city act like the answer to every career question is just move there?
