The $0 fix for my tiny apartment kitchen that I found by accident
I moved to Seattle 8 months ago and my kitchen is so small I was eating takeout every night, which cost me like $400 a month. I got tired of it and started cooking at a friend's place down the street once a week, just to have counter space. Turns out that one night of batch cooking gave me 4 days of meals, and now I do it every Sunday at her apartment while she watches Netflix. We split the grocery bill which comes to about $30 each, so I'm saving way more than I thought. Has anyone else done a shared cooking night with a neighbor or friend to deal with a small kitchen?
Man I feel this so hard, my old place had like two feet of counter and I was doing the same takeout thing till my wallet started hurting. Cooking with someone else is honestly such a smart fix, you get the space and it turns into a hangout instead of a chore. Splitting groceries at $30 each for four days of food is a way better deal than anything I ever found on my own.
