My old iPod Classic's hard drive finally clicked its last click last week and I spent 2 hours pulling music off it with a FireWire cable before it gave up completely

I hooked it up to my 2010 MacBook and got maybe 80% of my library copied over before the drive seized up for good, anyone know if those replacement SSD kits actually work or are they just a scam?

The iflash solo kit worked great in my 5th gen classic. I got a 128gb sd card in there and it's been running for almost 2 years without any issues. Just be careful when you open the iPod, those metal cases are super easy to scratch and dent if you use the wrong pry tool. Also watch a few youtube guides first because the ribbon cables are fragile.

128gb seems small when 1tb cards work fine in the solo, man.

Heard 128gb is the sweet spot for Rockbox without lag.
