Bought a $45 'green' cleaning kit and it was just baking soda

The kit cost me $45 and I could have mixed the same thing for under five bucks. Pretty sure they're just counting on people not reading the ingredient labels.

Right there with you. I bought a "premium natural all purpose cleaner" a few months back for almost $40 and it was literally just vinegar with some lemon peels soaking in it. I felt like such a fool when I opened it and smelled it. @the_hayden nailed it about the label with a leaf on it, that's exactly what got me. They know people want to feel like they're making a better choice and they just slap green words on cheap ingredients. The worst part is I saw the exact same bottle at a discount store later for $3. These companies are just cashing in on guilt.

And what exactly was the "green" part of it? Just the color of the box? I'm genuinely curious if they put any marketing spin on baking soda to make it sound special. Because that's the whole scam right there. People pay extra for a label with a leaf on it and think they're saving the planet. Meanwhile it's just the same cheap powder you can buy at the grocery store for a dollar. They're banking on people feeling too guilty to check.
