Can we talk about my city's compost program rejecting my bin over a single greasy pizza box
Pulled my green bin to the curb on Tuesday in Sacramento and got a bright orange sticker instead of a pickup. Reason listed: contamination. Turns out one soaked pizza box in a paper bag counts, because the grease ruins the whole load. They left the bin sitting there full for 3 weeks while I called the city twice and got sent to voicemail both times. Now I scrape every box into the trash and feel like a fool for bothering. Anyone else had their curbside bin flagged over something this small, or is my hauler just strict?
