Dropped $200 on a smart thermostat that promised to cut my energy bill by 30%, and after six months it saved me maybe $12 total
The thing kept fighting with my old HVAC system and ended up running the fan twice as long, so I'm back to just setting the temp manually and closing curtains at sunset. Has anyone else had a gadget that was supposed to help the climate just make things worse?

Did you check if the thing was actually compatible with your system before you bought it?

In fairness, some websites don't make compatibility info easy to find.

Haha yeah I saw a post the other day about someone who fried their motherboard because they didn't check power specs first lol.
