My uncle in Duluth told me he heats his garage with a wood stove all winter and burns maybe a cord and a half

He said it like it was nothing, but a cord and a half is way less than I would have guessed for a Minnesota garage. Made me look at the old space heater in my own shop and wonder what I'm actually burning through every January. Anyone here switch a shop or garage over to wood and regret it, or was it worth the hassle?
