Remember when you could see the mountains from downtown LA?

I saw a picture from 2005 and the smog was a solid brown wall, but now on clear days you can actually see the San Gabriels. It's from cleaning up power plants and cars, which is pretty wild. Has anyone else noticed a change like that where they live?

But is CO2 really that big of a deal? It's just a gas, idk. Maybe the climate thing is overblown.

Did you know some of that smog just moved east to the Inland Empire? We fixed one spot by making it someone else's problem.

Actually, it's a bit more complicated than that. The smog didn't just get pushed east. The rules changed to cut local pollution, which worked, but they let power plants and factories release more CO2 instead. So we got cleaner air here but made the climate problem worse overall.

We just traded visible smog for invisible greenhouse gases.
