Saw a huge drop in plastic trash at my local park cleanup
We did our yearly cleanup at Miller Park last weekend. In 2022, our group filled 40 big trash bags with plastic bottles and wrappers. This year, we only filled 12. The park put in three new water bottle filling stations about eight months ago, and I think that's the main reason. Has anyone else seen a big change after their city added something like that?

Wow, that's a solid drop. I've noticed way more people carrying reusable bottles on the bus and at the gym lately. It feels like the habit is finally sticking for good.

My local coffee shop started a 10 cent discount if you bring your own cup and it's wild how many people actually do it now. I drive by every morning and half the line is holding their own mugs or thermoses, which I never saw two years ago. And @blake792 is right about the gutters, I walk my dog along the same route and the difference in litter is for real. I used to always have to dodge plastic bottles near the bus stop but now I barely see any. Feels like we're finally past the point where it's just a trend and it's actually sticking.

Honestly, that drop from 40 bags to 12 is huge. Tbh I've been seeing way fewer plastic bottles in gutters around my neighborhood too, feels like a real shift.
