Showerthought: My old gas mower versus the electric one I got this spring
The electric one costs about 15 bucks a year to run, and the difference in noise and smell is huge. Anyone else make a switch that felt bigger than you expected?

Yeah, the power thing is a bit of a myth now. @reesej27, the newer brushless electric mowers have a ton of torque and don't bog down like the old ones did. My electric model plows through my overgrown patch just fine, and it's not even a super expensive one. The tech has gotten a lot better in the last few years.

Ha, nah, @reesej27 is kind of stuck in 2018 or something. The brushless electric mowers have come a long way. I've got a thick St. Augustine lawn and my Ego never bogs down, even when it's wet. Brushless motors make all the difference, the torque is actually better than most gas mowers now. Power isn't really an issue anymore unless you're trying to cut down a field of corn.
