Started logging my daily drive to work in a notebook and cut 40 miles a week off my commute
I drive from my place in Akron to a warehouse in Canton five days a week and always figured there was no way around the miles. About 3 weeks back I started writing down every trip, just the odometer before and after, and realized I was doing a bunch of dumb little detours, like swinging past a store I didn't even go into, or taking the longer highway route because it felt faster. Turns out I was burning almost an extra 40 miles a week, which at current gas prices is about $22 I don't need to spend, plus whatever it did to the air. Now I batch my errands into one loop on Saturdays and carpool with a guy from my shift twice a week. Has anyone else tried tracking their actual trips before, and did it stick or did you fall back into old habits?
