Thought composting at home was pointless until I saw the steam coming off my neighbor's pile in Minneapolis last January
I always figured a backyard bin in a cold state was a waste of time, but she pulled back the tarp and it was 130 degrees inside while it was 8 outside. Anyone here running a winter pile, what are you feeding it to keep it hot?

That 130 inside is wild, mine hit 120 last Feb with kitchen scraps and coffee grounds.
