Tried the local bus for a month instead of driving to my jobsite
I work on the north side of town, about 12 miles from my house. Figured I'd save some gas and see if the bus was a realistic option. Made it 3 days before I caved because I was losing 40 minutes each way waiting on transfers. Has anyone actually made this work long term in a mid-sized city?

Was the bus actually late or did the transfer times just suck?

Did you check the app before you left? I swear the tracking thing is always wrong anyway. One time I waited for a bus that the app said was coming in 3 minutes and it took 25. And then two showed up at the same time which never makes any sense. But honestly the transfer times are designed to fail here, they expect you to run across the station in 2 minutes with luggage. I've missed more connections than I can count just because the first bus was 4 minutes late.

Did you ever try timing it so you get to the stop right when the bus is supposed to actually be there, not when the app says? I started adding ten extra minutes to my walks to the stop and just accepting I'd be early, and it saved me a ton of stress. If I get there and the bus is already gone, at least I know the next one is coming in a bit, and I'm not sprinting with a suitcase. It's not perfect but beats waiting forever or missing the transfer completely.
