After fumbling with it for ages, I got the hang of custom macro variables...
Now I can tweak programs on the fly without stopping the machine...

Yeah macros are like that. Reminds me of when I first tried to tweak feed rates on an old CNC, felt like black magic until it just clicked one day.

But is it really that big a deal? Macros are just recorded commands, so where's the mystery? Tweaking settings on a CNC seems like basic trial and error to me. People talk about it like some secret art, but it's just learning the machine. Does calling it black magic just make simple stuff seem harder? What's the point in making it sound so serious?

Lol calling it black magic is generous, I still trip over my own code changes half the time. Feels less like wizardry and more like fumbling with a lucky rabbit's foot.
