Am I the only one who ditched the calculator and paper for setup sheets in the control
For almost 2 years I did every setup the old way, scribbling offsets on a notepad and punching numbers into the pendant one at a time. Then last spring our shop in Gary got a job with 14 different tapped holes and I kept fat fingering the same offset twice. My lead told me to just type the whole setup sheet into a program at the control and run it like a sub. Now I keep a folder of setup programs on the machine and it cut my changeover time on a 6 part run from about 40 minutes down to 12. Anyone else storing offsets and tool data right in the control instead of paper?
