Had a coolant line blowout on a 2015 Haas VF2 last Thursday

I was running a long cycle on some aluminum parts when I heard a weird hiss and saw coolant spraying all over the back of the machine. It was the main line from the pump to the spindle. I hit the e-stop, shut off the main power, and found the hose had rubbed through on a sharp edge of the sheet metal. I cut out the bad section and put in a new piece with two hose clamps, which got me running again in about an hour. Has anyone else had a coolant line fail like that, and is there a better fix than just patching it?

Our old Mazak had a coolant leak that fried the servo drive board.

Coolant leaks are a real pain, but that's usually a maintenance issue, not a machine flaw. Proper hose checks and clamps can prevent most of those disasters. It's more about staying on top of the basics.

My buddy's coolant line blew and wrecked his spindle motor.
