I finally quit fighting with my old toolsetter and swapped to a Renishaw probe last week
I ran a Haas VF-2 at a shop in Grand Rapids for about three years and always thought touch-off tools were fine... but after a 12-hour shift where I scrapped four parts because of a 0.003 offset error, I caved. The probe paid for itself in the first week with zero bad parts. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed a big drop in setup time?
