Just hit 10,000 hours of run time on my Haas VF-2 this morning

Was cleaning out the control cabinet and noticed the machine hours counter. 10,001 hours exactly. That's like five years of 40 hour weeks if you don't count setup time. I've replaced the spindle twice and gone through about 40 boxes of end mills. Crazy to think how many parts that thing has cut. Has anyone else kept track of their machine hours and hit a surprising number?

Bet your electric bill knows those hours better than you do. 10k on a VF-2 means that poor thing has vibrated every single screw loose at least twice by now. Check if the way covers still seal tight, those things love to let grit creep in after enough hours.

Yeah that's the truth. Had a VF-2 eat its own way cover seals around 11k hours.

Yeah @evaw18 makes a good point, I always figured those way covers would hold up better.
