Just ran my first 10,000 parts on the old Mazak without a single scrap. Never thought I'd see that number.

Hell yeah that's awesome! I hit a streak like that once on our older Haas and it felt unreal, like the machine just decided to cooperate for a month straight. That kind of run takes so much focus on the little stuff, checking offsets and tool wear before it's a problem. Seriously, congrats man, that's a huge win for the day.

Man, that reminds me of my buddy who ran a beat up old Mori Seiki for years. He had this one magical week where he pumped out a whole batch of these tricky aluminum parts, like hundreds of them, and every single one was perfect. He said it was like the machine had found religion, just humming along. He still talks about it, says he was checking everything twice, listening to every cut. Those flawless runs are the best feeling.

I get what you mean about that "magical week" feeling, but honestly I see it the other way. That perfect run wasn't the machine finding religion, it was your buddy doing everything right. He was checking twice and listening close, that's what did it. The machine just ran the code, he was the one who made it flawless. Giving the machine the credit takes away from the skill it takes to get there.
