Dropped $75 on a 'Learn to Code' course that was just a guy reading a textbook
Last week I paid $75 for a beginner Python course on a site I won't name, thinking it would finally get me past the basics. Turned out the whole thing was the instructor reading from a free PDF word for word, with no code editor, no exercises, just slides. I made it through 3 modules before I asked for a refund and got told 'no refunds after 7 days.' If you are new, check if the course lets you preview actual lessons first, not just a trailer. Has anyone found a beginner course that actually makes you type code instead of just watch?

Ran into the same thing with a guitar course once, guy just read tabs off a screen and called it teaching. Feels like every hobby now has people selling recycled free stuff because making a real course takes actual work. Preview the middle lessons, not the intro, that's where the lazy ones fall apart.
