PSA: I blew $120 on a coding bootcamp prep course that just read documentation to me
Signed up for a 6 week "zero to coder" prep class in Austin last month and it was basically a guy reading docs out loud on Zoom. I could have done the free Codecademy track in two weekends instead. Has anyone found a beginner resource that actually explains why the code works and not just what to type?

Ouch, $120 for a guy reading docs out loud stings. I did a free Harvard CS50 lecture on YouTube and it actually walked through the why behind each line, which sounds like what you were after. Your mileage may vary but it cost me nothing but time.
