Tried pair programming for the first time last Tuesday and it actually caught bugs I would have missed for hours
I always thought coding alone was faster but my buddy showed me how two pairs of eyes catch the silly mistakes like forgetting to close a tag, and now I'm wondering if I should do it for every tricky function.

Heard a story from my coworker Dave. His junior dev left a semicolon off in a loop. Ran fine on his machine. Broke the whole build on the server. Took them three hours to find it. After that they started pairing on anything with loops or nested logic. He swears it saved his team at least two hours a week after that.

Wait, a missing semicolon took THREE HOURS to find? That’s brutal, @troy_price. Gotta say though, pairing on loops sounds like a smart move if it saves that much time.

Happened to @troy_price once too, missed a colon in a config file. Took four hours to spot it. Brutal stuff.

Yeah, "brutal stuff" is right. I've been there myself and it's just the worst feeling when you finally spot it. A good pair really does help catch those dumb mistakes fast.
