Watching a kid debug her Scratch game at the Boise library changed how I read error messages
I was volunteering at a code club in Boise last month and a 10 year old spent 20 minutes stuck because her sprite kept vanishing off screen. She just kept saying the computer was broken until one of the other kids told her to actually read the little error box, and turns out she swapped two numbers in her move block. How often do you slow down and read the error message instead of just guessing and re-running?
