Cold brew concentrate ruined my morning routine for a month
I tried making a big batch of cold brew concentrate from the trendy recipe everyone loves, but after three days of drinking it, my stomach couldn't handle that level of acidity. Turned out the dark roast beans I used were way too oily and it came out tasting like mud. Has anyone else had concentrate just wreck their digestion out of nowhere?

Did you grind your own beans or buy them pre-ground? That oily sheen sounds like the beans were roasted too dark for cold brew.

Agree with @the_wendy, grind your own medium roast beans the night before and skip anything oily.

Oh totally, I learned that lesson the hard way. I bought a bag of pre-ground espresso roast from a local shop and it came out looking like an oil slick in my cold brew. The color was almost black and the taste was just bitter and flat. I finally switched to a medium roast whole bean and ground it myself the night before and it made a huge difference. The oily beans just don't work for cold brew, they turn into a greasy mess that ruins the whole batch.
