I finally gave into the cold brew hype and now I'm hooked

For the longest time I thought cold brew was just overpriced iced coffee that pretentious people raved about. Then my neighbor brought me a mason jar of her homemade stuff that steeped for 18 hours and it was super smooth with zero bitterness. Has anyone else been totally wrong about a coffee trend and found out it actually works?

Tried making my own once and nearly set the kitchen on fire, so I'll stick to buying it and pretending I don't notice the difference.
