My barista friend told me about coffee from a place I never heard of
I was talking to my friend who works at that shop on Maple Street, and she asked if I'd ever tried coffee from Yirgacheffe. I honestly said no, I usually just get the same dark roast. She made me a cup right there and said 'taste it, tell me what you get.' It was totally different, like bright and kind of fruity, not bitter at all. She explained it's from Ethiopia and the way they grow it changes the flavor a lot. I've been drinking coffee for years and just stuck to my usual stuff. Has anyone else tried coffee from a specific region that surprised them?

It's just coffee, not a revelation.

Totally agree with @the_margaret. Some people act like their morning cup is a magic potion. Saw a guy at the shop yesterday taking ten minutes to order, asking about bean origin and water temperature. It's just a warm drink that wakes you up. My old roommate used to brew a whole pot and then let it sit cold all day, and that worked fine too.

Oh man, that's so real. I mean, I get wanting a good cup, but some folks treat it like a science project. My uncle just buys the cheapest can of pre-ground, boils it in an old pot, and has been happy for forty years. Sometimes I think we just overcomplicate things.
