My grinder's burrs just gave up after 4 years of daily use

I was making my morning cup yesterday when the motor started making a high-pitched whine and the grounds came out super uneven. I opened it up and found the burrs were completely dull and chipped in a couple spots. Should I just replace the burrs, or is this a sign to finally upgrade the whole grinder?

My buddy had that same "high-pitched whine" last year. He replaced the burrs on his old grinder, but then the motor died like two months later. He ended up wishing he'd just put that money toward a new one.

Sounds like my last relationship.

Actually, worn burrs can make the motor work harder and sound weird.
