My morning brew tasted off until I cleaned my grinder for the first time in 6 months
The difference was insane, it was like getting a whole new bag of beans. Anyone have a good cleaning schedule for their Baratza Encore?

Cleaned my Encore after a year and it was like a fog lifted from my coffee. The old oils get rancid and mess with everything. I run a cleaning brush through the burrs every time I change beans now. A full tear down with removing the burrs happens every three months, maybe four if I'm lazy. It sounds like a lot but it only takes ten minutes. The difference in taste is worth the small hassle.

A year? I'm surprised it still made coffee and not some kind of bitter sludge. I do a quick brush-out weekly, but my full burr removal is on a strict "when I start tasting ghosts of beans past" schedule.

Three months sounds about right for a full tear down, @the_piper, I just wait until the ghosts show up to force my hand.

Can't believe @the_piper is doing a full tear down every three months like it's nothing, that seems excessive even for a pro.
