My new $40 scale turned my morning pour-over from a guess into a routine
I was eyeballing water for months, but weighing beans and water made a huge difference in taste. What's one small tool that really upped your coffee game?

I mean, a scale was huge for me too, but I felt so dumb buying one. I was out here weighing coffee like a scientist while still using a busted kettle that poured like a drunk person. Getting a gooseneck kettle with a decent spout finally made my pours look less like a car crash.

Oh man, @kaigibson, that was exactly my life for a year.

My buddy had that same struggle @charles640. He finally got a gooseneck and his first good pour was like watching a kid learn to ride a bike.

Honestly, that scale and kettle combo hits close to home. I spent months carefully weighing beans with my phone's timer going, then wrecking it all with a wild pour from a cheap kettle. Felt like I was doing brain surgery with a butter knife. Getting a gooseneck was the final piece that made everything click. Tbh it's crazy how one bad tool can undo all that careful work.
