Patience brewing coffee gave me a better start to the day

I always drank instant coffee for speed. After getting a French press, I learned the hard way that rushing ruins it. At first, I never waited the full four minutes, so my coffee was sour. One morning, I forced myself to set a timer and step away. When I came back, the aroma filled the kitchen. That first sip was smooth and rich, unlike anything from instant. I finally got why people talk about brewing time. Now, those four minutes feel like a gift, not a waste.

Four minutes is key for French press. I rushed it before and got sour brews. Setting a timer made all the difference.

Wait, sour brews can also happen if the grind is too coarse, not just from rushing.

Hey, does it always have to be exactly four minutes? I mean, I've had sour coffee from waiting that long if the water wasn't hot enough. Getting the basics right first makes the wait worth it though.
