That $45 hand grinder finally made me get the real thing
I picked up a cheap ceramic burr grinder on sale for $45 about 6 months ago. It worked okay for a week then started chewing beans unevenly. My morning pour over got bitter and sour in the same cup and I couldn't fix it. So I bit the bullet and bought a $180 steel burr grinder and the difference is wild. The grind size is consistent and my brew time actually matches what the recipe says. I should have just saved the $45 and gone straight for the decent one. Has anyone else burned money on a cheap grinder before upgrading?
