Warning: Our neighborhood coffee cart ditched reusable mugs for paper only.

I was bummed at first because I liked using my own cup (saves money and waste, you know?). Then I noticed they're actually composting the paper cups now, which is a cool step forward.

Heck, half the time that "compostable" label is straight-up greenwashing anyway.

My "compostable" coffee cup from last summer is still sitting in my backyard pile looking brand new. It's basically a plastic cup that's too ashamed to admit what it is. These things need a special industrial composter to break down, which nobody actually has. They might as well label them "magically disappears when you're not looking.

Did your 'compostable' fork ever melt in soup?

Wait, they actually compost them? No way, most places say that but the cups never break down right.
