A collector told me I was ruining my comics by storing them wrong

I kept my floppies in a cardboard box in my basement for 2 years. An older guy at my local shop in Pittsburgh saw the edges curling and said the moisture was causing spine stress and color breaks. He told me to switch to BCW plastic bins with silica packs. I went home, moved everything to a dry room, and the difference after 3 months was night and day. Anyone else get a storage tip that totally saved their collection?

Dang, cardboard boxes are fine if your basement isn't a swimming pool lol.

@shane_park92 yeah my buddy stored records in his basement and the box just turned into a soggy mess.

Nah, cardboard is fine for short term but yeah it's basically a sponge after a while. Bags and boards make way more difference than the box anyway.
