Had a buddy tell me my comic collection was an 'unreadable mess' - here's what I changed

So about 8 months ago, a guy at the local shop looked at my long boxes and just laughed. He said I had the worst organization he'd ever seen, like mixing Golden Age with Image stuff in the same box. I got annoyed at first but then I looked at my own setup. I had 90s X-Men next to random Spawn issues, nothing alphabetical or by publisher. Took me a whole Sunday to sort everything by publisher, then title, then issue number. Now I can find my Uncanny X-Men #266 in about 15 seconds flat instead of digging through three boxes. Felt like a dummy for not doing it sooner, but hey, better late than never. Has anyone else had a collector call them out on something obvious like that?

Wait, you had Uncanny X-Men #266 mixed in with Spawn? That's like finding a gold coin in a pile of pocket lint. I'm honestly surprised you didn't lose your mind digging through that mess before.

Honestly I used to think Gambit was overrated. Overhyped character everyone loved for no reason. Then I actually read his first appearance. That fight with the X-Men, the attitude, the mystery. Changed my mind completely.

Issue #266's value isn't just the first Gambit appearance. That cover with his staff and smirk is probably the most iconic single image from the 90s X-Men boom. Even beat up copies still go for a lot because collectors want that exact look on their shelf.
