My buddy's pull list advice was dead wrong, cost me 60 bucks

My friend at the shop swore I'd love the new run of a certain indie title, said it was the best thing since the 90s. I bought the whole TPB collection, all 12 issues, based on his word. Turned out it was just 12 issues of the main character whining about his ex-girlfriend. Now I'm stuck with a stack of comics I can't even trade in, and he's already moved on to hyping some other book. Has anyone else been burned by a friend's recommendation they took as gospel?
