Shoutout to my brother for our monthly comic book runs
We used to save up our allowance and walk to the store together. Now he just streams animated series on his phone. Do other families still do stuff like that together?

Miss those comic runs. Streaming feels hollow.

Wait, are you talking about the actual comic runs from like the 90s? shanef34, I'm shook you'd say streaming feels hollow after that. Those books had months of buildup and crazy twists, like when Jean Grey died for real. Now everything's just binge-watched and forgotten in a week.

Right? I had a whole crew that would meet up at the coffee shop every Wednesday when new comics dropped. Arguing about if Cyclops was right or just being a huge jerk was a weekly event. Now I just get a "watched" notification and that's it.

I mean, I once camped out overnight for a 90s X-Men issue at a local comic con, just to get it signed. The whole time, me and these other fans were guessing plot twists and sharing theories, which made the wait part of the fun. Now with streaming, I binge a whole season alone and there's no one to talk about it with, no buildup. Idk, maybe it's just me, but that social buzz is what made those old comics feel special. Like, the story was cool, but waiting and guessing with friends was half the point. Streaming just doesn't have that same shared excitement, you know?
