Spent $75 on a 'mint condition' vintage comic that was just a reprint glued inside the original cover

I found it at a flea market and the seller swore it was the real deal, but the pages were all wrong. Anyone know a good way to spot these fakes before you hand over the cash?

Ever bring a cheap blacklight to check for glue? That's saved me a couple times. The old paper looks different under it than a new reprint.

Yeah, a blacklight is a solid idea, I mean I got burned on a record that way once.
