The $8 issue that made me question my whole collecting habit

I bought a beat up copy of New Mutants #98 last Saturday at a garage sale for 8 bucks because the cover had a coffee ring on it. I figured it was worthless, just wanted it for the nostalgia since I grew up reading that run in the 90s. Turns out it's the first appearance of Deadpool, and even with the damage, it's worth over 200 on eBay right now. I've been collecting for 15 years and I always ignored the mugs, the rips, the faded spines. Now I'm wondering how many gems I've passed on because I was too picky about condition. Has anyone else found a 'trash' book that ended up being the crown jewel of their longbox? I'm about to dig through my dollar bin rejects tonight.
