Unpopular opinion: the guy at my shop who bags his comics in acid-free boards is wasting his money
I was at my local shop in Bakersfield on Saturday and overheard a guy bragging that he re-bags his whole collection every 6 months with acid-free boards, which runs him about $80 a year. I told him I've had the same 300 books in cheap bags since 2011 and they look exactly the same, and he looked at me like I kicked his dog. Am I wrong here, or is he just paying for peace of mind?
Man, I feel for the guy, he clearly cares about his books and probably just wants to feel like he's doing right by them. But honestly your cheap bags holding up since 2011 tells me he's mostly buying a good night's sleep.
