Why does nobody talk about the wrist pain from holding heavy omnibuses?

I mean, those big books are a workout for your arms, idk.

Used to think heavy books were just part of the fun. Now my wrist hurts after ten minutes, so I get it. Why make them so unwieldy anyway?

Want to make sure we're getting our daily arm workout while we read? They design these things like you're supposed to read at a gym bench press, not in your own bed. My pillow fort reading setup is starting to look pretty sensible.

I was reading the last Absolute Sandman volume, and it clocks in at over eight pounds. My wrist actually started throbbing after twenty minutes of trying to hold it up to read in bed. I had to keep switching it from hand to hand or prop it on a pillow, which just ruins the whole relaxing vibe. It got so bad I ended up just putting it on a table and reading hunched over like some kind of goblin.

Maybe @rileygarcia just needs to build up some grip strength, it's a fancy book, it should feel important. That goblin posture sounds like a personal choice.
