Can we talk about hitting 500 commercial dives and realizing you still learn stuff every week?
Hit 500 logged commercial dives last Friday on a pipeline job outside Morgan City and I thought I would feel like some kind of veteran. Instead I spent that whole dive fighting a hydra tool that kept snagging on a weld seam at 68 feet down. My tender Marcus, who has maybe 40 dives under his belt, spotted that my umbilical was wrapped wrong before I even splashed. That one catch saved me at least a half hour of getting worked in murky water. The number sounds big until you remember every job throws something new at you. What milestone number stuck with you guys, and did it actually feel like anything when you hit it?
