First solo on a Mobile River piling, that's a big deal. That water moves fast and the visibility is terrible. You're earning your stripes for real out there. It's a whole different ball game compared to training in a tank. Getting that first one done right builds a ton of confidence. Solid work.

What was the hardest part once you were actually in the water? The current, the silt, or just keeping your focus on the task with zero backup down there?

Noticing how the_susan put it, that's the real thing. It's the total quiet down there, just you and the job, that gets to people. You see it in all kinds of work, not just diving.
