See, that's just putting a bandage on it though, right? Moving the hose might help you see a little better for one job, but the next hull could have a completely different curve and you're back to guessing. The real problem is how the whole extraction system is designed to begin with. Why are we still dealing with clouds of dust in 2024 when the tech exists to fix it at the source?

Yeah @shane_park92, you're totally right it's a bandage. I read an article about how some shops are using closed-loop systems now, seems way smarter than just moving hoses around.

Seriously, 2024? I just saw a video from a boatyard using basic HEPA vacs hooked right to the sander, no cloud at all. The fact some shops still have guys breathing that filth is insane. It's not even new gear, just a sealed cab and a good filter.
