I finally had a clean 100 foot dive without a single equipment hiccup
I'm working a bridge inspection job in Charleston and last Thursday the vis was decent, current was mild, and my drysuit didn't leak a drop all shift. It's the little things, you know? Anyone else have those rare days where everything just clicks underwater?

Wait, what exactly happened before that made this dive feel so different? Was it a specific issue like a valve freezing up or just general bad luck with leaks and gear failures piling up shift after shift? I've been doing this long enough to know those perfect days are rare but they usually come after a string of absolute garbage dives where everything fights you. The current being mild in Charleston this time of year is already a win in my book, that tide can be a real bastard when it turns. Was there one particular fix you made recently that turned things around or did it all just magically line up for once?

Good gear maintenance makes ALL the difference on those days. I swapped out a cracked o-ring on my inflation valve the night before and it held perfect for my whole shift. Tiny fix but it turned a potential headache into a smooth dive.

Did you catch that o-ring the night before or just spot it during a pre-dive check?
