Noticed something odd on a Santa Barbara pier job last month

We were doing a hull inspection under a tourist pier near the aquarium and I kept seeing these little iridescent flashes on the pilings. Turned out to be a bunch of peacock worms, way more than I've ever seen that shallow. Divers I talked to say they usually show up deeper or in cleaner water. Anyone else running into weird marine life shifts on routine jobs lately? Curious if it's just this spot or something broader.
